Forbes.com – What Google Trends Reveals about the Presidential Election
With the presidential election drawing to a close next week, the polls are showing a neck-and-neck race for the White House. As both sides of the aisle fight for their candidate, Americans are looking at data backed predictions until the votes and tallied and the next four years are decided.
For all you entrepreneurs out there, you’ll definitely find Ken Krogue’s latest article on Forbes.com particularly interesting. Looking at data from Google Trends (often used as a tool to measure consumer trends), Ken looks back at the past two presidential elections, their Google trends, and the end results.
The question Ken asks is whether or not the trends of the past will continue into the present and accurately predict the outcome of the presidential election. Unlike his first Forbes article which showcased how to use Google Trends, Ken puts the tool to use in predicting the upcoming election.
